[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 8일부터 11일까지 태백시는 나흘간 태백 고원체육관에서 대한태권도협회장배 전국 태권도 품새 선수권대회를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 대회는 대한 태권도협회가 주최하고 태백시체육회, 강원도태권도협회, 태백시태권도협회 주관으로 진행되며, 단, 코로나19 상황을 고려해 개·폐회식은 생략된다고 했다.

대회는 초·중·고·대학·일반부 남,녀 선수 및 임원 포함 1,700여 명이 참가해 치열한 승부를 펼칠 예정이며, 경기는 개인 단체 복식전(토너먼트)과 자유 품새(컷오프)방식으로 진행된다고 전했다.

금병철 스포츠레저과장은 “이번 대회는 철저한 방역수칙 준수하에 안전한 대회를 치를 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”며 “태권도 선수단은 그동안 갈고 닦은 기량을 마음껏 발휘해 주시길 바란다”고 말했다.
