[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 작년 8월부터 지금까지 양주시무한돌봄희망센터는 e장애인신문으로부터 사업비를 후원받아 ‘찾아가는 생신축하파티사업’을 진행하고 있다고 밝혔다.

희망센터의 생신축하파티사업은 사례관리 가구 중 65세 이상 독거노인, 장애인가구, 조손가구 등을 선정하여 생신일에 외롭고 쓸쓸하지 않도록 정서적 지지를 위해 기획됐으며, 가급적 생신 당일에 가정을 방문하여 생일축하 노래를 불러드리고, 케잌과 떡과 과일을 나누고, 평소에 받고 싶으셨던 선물을 전달하는 시간을 가지고 있다고 했다.

특히 이 기간 중 생신축하를 받으신 분들 중에는 하지마비로 바깥출입이 어려운 독거어르신도 있었고, 자식과 단절되고 만성질환(당뇨)로 합병증을 앓고 있는 할아버지, 그리고 국가 유공자였던 할아버지가 돌아가신 후 손자와 함께 살고 계신 할머니 등도 있어, 이 분들이 생신축하시간을 통해 사회복지사와 함께 따뜻한 감동의 시간을 가질 수 있었다고 했다.

새해를 맞아 지난 1월 17일에 첫 번째 생신축하 시간을 가지신 김갑분(76세, 가명) 어르신은 “매년 쓸쓸한 생일을 보냈는데 이렇게 찾아와 주고, 케잌에 불도 켜고, 노래도 불러주어서, 너무 고맙다.” 며 고마움을 전했다.
