[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시는 체류형 단체관광객 유치 증대로 지역경제 활성화를 도모하기 위해 2022년도 단체관광객 유치 보상제를 실시한다고 밝혔다.

단체관광객 유치보상금은 이달부터 올해 편성된 예산 소진 시까지 지급되며, 지원대상은 속초시와 관련된 관광상품을 개발하고 홍보ㆍ판매하는 국내외 여행사, 수학여행을 목적으로 속초시 소재 관광ㆍ일반 숙박업체에 1박 이상 숙박하는 각급 학교 또는 여행사, 속초시에서 추진하는 외국인 전용 관광택시 사업 참여자라고 했다.

유치보상금 지원을 희망하는 운영자는 여행 종료 후 10일 이내에 유치보상금 지원신청서 및 증빙서류를 제출하면 된다고 전했다.

유치보상금 지원금액은 수학여행을 목적으로 관내 관광ㆍ일반 숙박업체에 숙박하는 각급 학교에 지급하며 학교당 20인 이상 1숙박당 5,000원, 2숙박 이상 7,000원, 속초시에서 추진하는 외국인 전용 관광택시 사업은 1인당 5,000원으로 운영한다고 했다.

단체관광객을 유치한 여행사는 20인 이상 40인 이하의 경우 1 숙박당 20만원, 41인 이상 80인 이하 40만원, 81인 이상 60만원 등이며 안내요원, 버스운전기사 등의 여행사 관계자는 지원기준 대상 인원에서 제외된다고 했다.

코로나19로 인한 단체관광객 인원 모집이 어려울 경우(「재난 및 안전관리 기본법」제3조제1호에 따른 재난) 인원 기준을 50% 완화하여 적용(재난종료 시까지 한시적 적용)한다고 했다.  

속초시는 단체관광객 유치보상금 지원 확대를 위해 지속적으로 체류형 관광객 유치 증대를 도모할 계획이라고 전했다.
