[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백시는 ‘태백시 다자녀 가정 교육비 지원 조례’가 올해 1월 1일부터 시행됨에 따라 다자녀 가정 교육비를 셋째 이상 자녀에서 첫째 자녀부터 확대하여 지원한다고 밝혔다.

이번 시책은 태백시민 중 다자녀 가정에 대한 교육비 지원으로 경제적 부담을 경감하고 지역 인재양성을 위해 다자녀 가정의 의견을 수렴해 시정에 반영한 강원도 내 최초로 시행된 제도라고 했다.

지원 대상은 셋 이상 자녀를 양육하는 다자녀 가정의 자녀 중 초·중·고등학교에 재학 중인 모든 자녀라고 전했다.

교육비는 종전에 지원하던 방과 후 학교 수강료(재료비 포함), 학교급식비는 그대로 지원하고 현장체험 학습비를 신설하여 지원할 계획으로 이를 위해 시는 2022년 예산에 118백만원을 편성했다고 했다.

지원기준은 지급기한일 기준 태백시 관내에 주민등록을 두고 6개월 이상 거주해야 하고, 신청 대상자는 오는 4월 1일부터 주소지 관할 행정복지센터를 방문하여 신청서와 구비서류를 제출하면 된다고 전했다.

태백시 관계자는 “앞으로도 다자녀 가정의 실질적인 지원책 마련을 위해 교육비 경감은 물론 지역 인재양성에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
