[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 14일 경기도의회 교육기획위원회 위원장 정윤경 의원은 2021년 경기도 학교체육진흥위원회 회의에 참석했다고 밝혔다. 

이 자리에는 정윤경 교육기획위원회 위원장, 경기도교육청과 경기도의 체육관계자, 경기도체육회와 경기도장애인체육회 관계자, 이태현 용인대 교수, 남현희 전 펜싱 국가대표 등 14명의 위원이 참석했다고 했다.  

이날 주요 안건으로는 2021~2023 학생건강과 정책추진(학교체육) 기본계획, 2022년 경기학생스포츠센터 운영계획, G-스포츠클럽(경기도형학교운동부) 운영계획, 마을과 함께하는 초등스포츠클럽 운영계획, 학생선수 학습권・인권・진로 교육계획, 학교 스마트체육 활성화 지원계획 등 학교체육진흥을 위한 뜨거운 관심속에 위원들의 열띤 논의가 진행됐다고 했다. 

정윤경 위원장은 G-스포츠클럽과 관련하여 “G-스포츠클럽 사업초기 우리가 가보지 않은 길에 대한 불안과 우려가 많았으나 4년이 지난 지금 체육회 사무국장들과의 정담회에서는 해당사업에 대한 많은 지지와 함께 확대요구가 있었다”며, “사업확장과 안정적인 추진을 위해 비인기 종목에 대한 지원노력, 경기도의 참여, 초등스포츠클럽처럼 경기도의 예산투입이 이루어 질 수 있도록 적극적 협력을 해야 한다”고 주장하여 위원 모두의 공감을 얻었다고 했다. 

경기도체육회 소속 최충열 위원은 “G-스포츠클럽 사업에 경기도체육회가 빠져있다며 함께 참여할 수 있는 기회가 마련된다면 적극적인 역할을 하겠다”고  밝혔다. 

참석위원들은 학교체육진흥을 위해 스마트체육 인프라 구축과 지원체계 구축, 장애인체육 활성화를 위한 별도계획 마련, 스포츠클럽 활동의 상급학교 및 고교학점제 연계, 학교시설의 적극적 개방을 위한 노력 등을 요청했다고 전했다.

경기도장애인체육회 소속의 박언호 위원은 “장애인들이 체육활동에 대한 의사는 있으나 체육시설에 대한 사용과 접근이 어려운 현실이 안타깝다”며, 이에 대한 개선노력을 함께 해 줄 것을 요청했다. 

정 위원장은 “경기도교육청 정책 대부분이 일반학생과 장애학생을 통합하여 추진하는 경우가 많은데, 통합체육도 필요하지만 장애학생들을 위한 체육활동 접근성을 높이기 위해서는 이들을 위한 별도의 할당부분이 마련되어야 한다”고 주장하며, 특정 요일이나 특정 시간대를 정하여 장애학생들의 예측가능성과 접근성을 높여줄 것을 교육청 관계자들에게 당부했다. 또한 운동장과 체육관에 대한 무선인프라구축을 통해 스마트체육이 활성화 될 수 있도록 교육정보담당관 등 관련부서와의 협력을 주문했다.       

전 펜싱 국가대표 선수인 남현희 위원은 “많은 선수들이 선수생활 이후 지도자의 길을 걷고자 하나, 기회가 닿지 않아 현실적인 어려움을 겪고 있다”며 안타까움을 토로했다.

정윤경 의원은 “국가대표선수 및 메달리스트들의 기량을 학생들이 만나볼 수 있도록 기회를 만들고 학교체육이 지속적으로 발전하기 위해서는 끊임 없이 변화의 문을 두드리는 노력이 필요하다”며 경기도교육청과 경기도, 31개시군, 체육회, 장애인체육회 간 긴밀한 협력을 요청하고 교육기획위원장으로서 적극적 역할을 해 나갈 것을 약속하며 회의를 마쳤다.
