[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 6일 경기도의회 교육기획위원회 위원장 정윤경 의원은 2021년 제2차 학교민주시민교육 자문위원회 회의에 참석하여 2021년 중점사업추진현황과 2022년 사업추진계획에 대한 심도있는 논의를 진행했다고 밝혔다.    

2021년 중점추진사업으로는 파주지역 경기 평화.통일 교육센터 건립에 대한 진행사항과 프로그램 개설 계획, 2021 교육공동체 학교민주주의 지수 조사와 관련된 보고가 있었다고 했다. 

2021년 학교민주주의 지수는 5점 척도 기준 4.11점으로 나와 2019년 3.98점에 비해 상승된 것으로 나타났고, 이와 관련하여 이제실 상현고 교장은 “지수의 상승이 반가운 일이지만, 학교민주주의 지수는 학교문화를 진단하는 도구가 되어야 한다”며 점수에 매몰되는 것을 경계했다.

2022년 중점사업 추진계획과 관련하여 시민교육 교육과정 개발과 경기 안산.시흥교육국제화특구 재지정 추진계획이 논의됐다고 했다.  

참석위원들은 2022년 본예산 상임위 심의과정에서 2022년 시민교육 교육과정 개발을 위해 편성한 연구비와 운영비에 대해 관심을 갖고 노력해 준 정윤경 교육기획위원장에게 감사를 표했다고 전했다.  

2022년 시민교육 교육과정 개발과 관련하여 경기도교육청만의 특색을 살린 교육과정 개발, 교육과 체험이 함께 이루어 지는 문화조성, ‘민주학교 길라집이’ 보급을 위한 예산 확보, 민주시민교육의 모든 교과와의 연계 방안 등 다양한 논의가 진행됐다고 했다. 

정윤경 위원장은 민주학교 길라잡이 보급과 관련하여 학교현장에서 활용도가 높을 것으로 예상되는 만큼 향후 적극적 검토를 해 나가겠다고 밝혔다.

또한, 경기도교육청이 선제적으로 추진하고 있는 민주시민교육에 대한 격려를 보내며, 학교의 민주시민교육이 다양한 교육과정과 학생들의 삶 속에서 자연스럽게 체득될 수 있도록 다양하고 체계적인 준비를 해 줄 것을 경기도교육청 관계자들에게 요청하며 회의를 마쳤다고 전했다.
