[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 29일 화천군은 하남면 원천리 장애인 보호 작업장에서 마스크 생산 공장 준공식을 개최한다고 밝혔다. 

화천군이 지난 5월부터 총사업비 6억원을 투입해 만든 마스크 공장은 지상 1층, 연면적 288㎡ 규모이며, 내부에 생산라인과 포장라인, 원자재 창고, 완제품 창고 등을 완비해 매월 약 10만장의 마스크 생산능력을 갖췄다고 했다. 

화천군은 내달 식품의약품안전처 인가 획득 후 본격적인 공장 가동을 시작하며, 공장이 준공됨에 따라 장애인들을 위한 양질의 일자리도 늘어날 전망이라고 했다. 

화천군은 내년 상반기 근로 장애인 10명, 비장애인 4명(근로지원인)을 채용하고, 하반기 근로 장애인 10명을 추가로 모집한다는 계획이며, KF-94 마스크 판매로 발생하는 수익은 근로 장애인 임금, 장애인들의 직업 재활훈련 등에 사용된다고 했다. 

화천군 장애인 보호 작업장은 일반 기업에 취업이 어려운 중증 장애인들에게 지속적으로 일자리를 제공해오고 있으며, 연중 다양한 분야의 학습, 직업체험, 심리치료 등의 프로그램도 운영 중이라고 했다.

한편, 화천군은 장애인 보호 작업장 마스크 제조공장 외에도 지난 7월 총 사업비 70억원이 투입된 지하 1층, 지상 3층 규모의 장애인 복지센터를 준공한 바 있다고 전했다. 

최문순 화천군수는 “장애인 복지를 위한 다양한 시책을 더욱 강화해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
