[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10월 1일 의정부시 송산2동주민센터는 용민로 및 용현로 일대의 도로변 화분에 형형색색의 가을 국화 약 700여 본을 식재하는 꽃길 가꾸기 행사를 실시하여 국화 향기가 가득한 거리를 조성했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사는 The G&B City 프로젝트의 일환으로 송산2동 통장협의회 회원과 송산2동주민센터 소속 공무원 59명이 참여했으며, 앞서 지난달에는 식재 행사를 위해 사전 화분정리와 대로변 제초작업을 실시하여 더욱 쾌적한 환경에서 수월하게 진행할 수 있었다고 했다.

한편 사회적 거리두기 준수를 위해 국화를 심은 245개의 화분을 관내 주요 도로변에 분산 배치하고, 구역별 편성을 통해 코로나19 확산에 대한 우려를 효과적으로 차단하고 더욱 안전하게 행사를 진행할 수 있었다.

안윤배 송산2동장은 “이른 아침부터 꽃길 조성에 힘써 준 통장협의회와 직원들의 노고에 감사드리고, 올가을엔 화사하게 만개한 국화 꽃길을 걸으며 깊어가는 가을 정취를 느낄 수 있길 바란다며 앞으로도 꾸준한 관리로 국화 향기 가득한 아름다운 거리를 만들도록 노력하겠다”라고 말했다.
