[장선희 기자 = 경기북부]  지난 6월 16일 의정부시 송산2동은 여름철 집중호우로 인한 침수피해를 예방하기 위해 관내 도로변 빗물받이 청소를 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 정화활동은 송산2동 지역자율방재단과 통장협의회 37명이 5개조로 나뉘어 민락동 KT동의정부지점 및 송산푸르지오 인근 이면도로를 중심으로 빗물받이 내·외부 토사제거 및 주변 쓰레기 청소했고, 빗물받이는 도로와 주택가 등에서 흘러나오는 빗물을 모아서 하수관으로 이어지게 하는 시설로, 토사·낙엽 등 각종 쓰레기가 쌓여 장마철 빗물 역류로 인한 도로 및 반지하 주택 침수 등 피해를 유발할 수 있다고 했다.

강경자 송산2동 지역자율방재단장은 “우기 대비 빗물받이 정비작업은 힘든 일이지만 장마철 침수예방을 위해 꼭 필요한 작업으로 무더운 날씨속에서도 단원들끼리 서로 격려하며 즐겁게 작업을 마쳤다”고 말했다.
