산림청 임업전문 교육기관으로 지정 후 ‘2021년 귀산촌 교육사업 공모’에 선정되어 산촌체험과정 참여자를 공개 모집하며, 신청은 온라인 및 팩스, 이메일로 신청이 가능하며, 오는 6월 24일(목) 개강, 2박3일 과정으로 운영되며, 본 교육과정 수료 시 산림청 임업경영 후계자 교육이수 실적 40시간 중 23시간이 인정된다고 말했다.

박천행교장은 “올해 처음으로 임업교육 과정을 개강하기에 임업경영 후계자를 준비하는 분들의 많은 참여를 바란다.”고 말했다.

채성수 이사장도 “서울 및 경기권에는 임업경영 후계자를 위한 교육이 많지 않기 때문에 귀산촌을 통해 인생이모작을 꿈꾸시는 분들과 임업경영 후계자들에게 좋은 기회가 될 것이다.”고 말했다.

가평귀촌귀농학교는 2017년부터 농림축산식품부 귀농귀촌 맞춤형 교육기관으로 선정되어 현재까지 약 820명의 수료생을 배출했으며, 약60여명이 가평군으로 귀촌하는 성과를 냈고, 또한 산림청 임업전문 교육기관 지정, 평생교육원 지정, 가평군 제1호사회적기업 신청 등 농촌경제 활성화와 가평군 인구늘리기를 위해 다양한 사업을 전개하고 있다고 했다.
