기존 방재관련계획, 하천기본계획, 하수도정비기본계획, 도시계획 등과 같은 관련 계획을 충분히 반영하고 연계성을 명시해 타 분야의 계획과 유기적인 조정이 가능하도록 해 계획의 실질적인 효율성을 높일 수 있도록 추진하고 있다고 했다.

자연재해저감 종합계획을 수립하기 위해 4월 21일 신관3층 대회의실에서 관계전문가와 지역주민들의 의견을 수렴하기 위해 공청회를 개최하며, 이번 공청회는 종합계획(안)을 설명하고 대학 교수 등 방재전문가와 주민대표로 구성된 패널들의 토론을 거친 후 주민의 건의사항 청취와 질의응답 순으로 진행할 예정이라고 전했다.
