[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시는 산불 진화작업과 지원을 위해 신속하게 달려온 전국 시·도 소방서 및 기관, 단체에 감사의 마음을 담은 서한문을 발송했다고 밝혔다.

서한문을 통해 “강풍과 연기 속에 위험을 무릅쓰고 헌신적으로 산불 진화에 참여한 소방인력을 비롯하여 따뜻한 위로와 정성을 담아 성금과 성품을 보내주신 고마운 분들과 현장에서 식사제공과 지원을 아끼지 않은 자원봉사자가 있어 더 많은 피해를 막을 수 있었다”감사의 마음을 전했다.

이어 “전국 각지에서 신속하게 달려오신 분들의 도움으로 더 큰 확산을 방지할 수 있었고 2차 피해를 예방할 수 있었다”며, “더 이상의 재난은 없어야 하겠지만 동해시민 모두는 전국 어디라도 어렵고 힘든 일들이 생긴다면 기꺼이 먼저 달려가 돕겠다”며 거듭 고마움을 표했다.

심규언 동해시장은 “전국에서 산불 진화에 적극적으로 협조해주신 소방관과 기관, 단체의 노력으로 우리 시가 빠른 진정 국면에 접어들어 감사의 마음을 담은 서한문을 보내게 됐다”고 밝혔다.
