[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 고성군은 북방식 전통가옥 보존지구인 왕곡마을에서 전통한옥 숙박체험을 운영한다고 전했다. 

(사)왕곡마을보존회는 4월부터 올해 10월까지 7개월간 전통한옥 숙박체험을 온라인 예약시스템으로 운영하며, 와가4동 초가4동으로 8가옥 10객실이 숙박시설로 운영되며, 숙박요금은 가옥별 특성에 따라 비수기 3만원~20만원, 성수기 6만원~25만원으로 숙박체험뿐 아니라 전통 떡메치기, 두부만들기, 한과 체험, 절구 및 그네타기 체험 등 민속생활용품을 이용한 농경문화유산을 직접체험할 수 있어 전통문화체험시설로 각광 받을것으로 기대된다고 했다.

국가민속문화재인 고성왕곡마을은 북방식 가옥형태를 원형 그대로 보존되고 있는 곳으로 안방과 사랑방, 마루와 부엌이 있으며, 부엌에 마굿간을 덧붙여 겨울이 긴 추운지방에서 생활하기 편리하게 지은 ‘┐’ 자형과 예부터 집집마다 굴뚝위에 항아리를 얹어 놓는 전통을 지키고 있는 마을이라고 했다.

군 관계자는 "많은 관광객들이 방문해 옛 방식 그대로의 민속마을에서 전통가옥의 숨결을 느끼길 바란다며 북방식 전통가옥 보존지구인 왕곡마을의 가옥을 활용해 숙박체험 프로그램을 운영, 주민소득 창출로 문화재 지정에 따른 주민 불만사항을 해소하고, 마을 주변자원과 송지호를 활용한 생태 및 전통문화 체험 관광지로 자리매김 시키는 데 행정적인 지원을 아끼지 않을 방침”이라고 전했다.
