[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 3월 24일, 횡성군은 '횡성읍 교차로명 제정(정비) 선호도 조사'를 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이번 조사는 국가기본도 표기 지명 정비사업의 일환으로 이뤄지고, 횡성읍 내 시가지 및 주요 간선도로에 설치된 교차로에 대해 명칭을 제정(정비)하여 위치정보 제공의 기초자료로 활용하며, 내비게이션 및 위급상황 출동 시 위치찾기를 지원함으로써 횡성군의 정확한 위치정보 시스템 구축을 목표로 한다고 전했다.  

주민참여형 사업으로 추진되어 지난 1월 7일 ~ 2월 7일 한달간 주민 의견 수렴 과정을 거쳤으며, 제출된 교차로명 후보에 대해 군민을 대상으로 한 최종 선호도 조사가 진행된다고 했다.

선호도 조사를 통해 교차로명을 선정한 후에는 지명위원회에 상정·의결하여 국가기본도 표기 지명으로 등재하며 교차로 표지판을 설치한다고 했다.

의견 제출 기간은 지난 17일부터 오는 31일까지로, 해당 QR코드에 접속하여 참여하면 되고, 보다 자세한 사항은 횡성군 홈페이지 또는 횡성군 토지재산과 블로그를 통해 확인할 수 있으며, 문의 사항은 횡성군 토지재산과 공간정보팀로 연락하면 된다고 전했다.
