[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 속초시가 유해 야생동물로 인한 농작물 피해예방을 위해 피해예방시설 설치사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다. 

야생동물로 인한 농작물 피해예방시설의 설치비용 지원으로 농작물의 피해를 사전 예방 및 최소화하여 농가의 안정적 소득에 기여할 방침이라고 했다. 

피해예방시설인 전기울타리(전기목책기) 설치를 위하여 농가당 최대 120만 원까지 자부담 40% 부담으로 보조금을 지원하며, 특히 인접농가와 공동사업(통합설치)으로 신청 시 우선 지원되고, 이미 피해예방시설비 지원을 받은 농가는 지원대상에서 제외되며, 신청자는 오는 4월 8일까지 설치 지원신청서 등 구비서류를 속초시청 환경과에 제출하면 된다고 전했다.

속초시는 농번기와 수확기에 농작물의 피해가 집중되는 것을 감안하여 4월부터 11월까지 유해 야생동물 출몰지를 중심으로 유해 야생동물 피해 방지단을 운영할 계획이라고 전했다.

또한 3월부터 10월 중 야생동물 피해보상 접수 및 현장 조사하여 농작물 피해보상심의위원회를 거쳐 12월 중 야생동물 피해보상금을 지급할 예정이라고 했다. 

속초시 관계자는“신청자를 대상으로 사업의 적정성 및 우선 지원 여부 등을 면밀히 검토하여 최종 지원 대상자를 선정할 계획이다.”라고 말했다.
