[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 3월부터 의정부시는 투명 페트병을 종량제봉투(10리터)로 교환해주는 투명 페트병 교환장터를 운영한다고 밝혔다. 

투명 페트병은 고품질의 재활용 품목으로 지난 2020년 공동주택에 이어 지난해 12월 25일부터는 일반주택까지 전 지역 분리배출이 의무화됐다고 했다.

시는 투명 페트병 분리배출에 대한 시민의식 제고와 참여 활성화를 위해 오는 16일부터 매주 수요일 투명 페트병 교환장터를 운영할 계획이며, 교환장터는 4개 권역동 행정복지센터에서 열리며 매월 첫째, 셋째 수요일에는 흥선동(10시~12시), 호원2동(2시~4시), 매월 둘째, 넷째 수요일에는 신곡1동(10시~12시), 송산3동(2시~4시)에서 개최한다고 했다.

투명 페트병 교환장터는 의정부시민 누구나 참여 가능하며 투명 페트병을 모아오면 1kg당 종량제봉투(10리터) 1매로 교환해주며, 투명 페트병은 내용물을 비우고 라벨을 제거한 후 병을 찌그러트려 뚜껑을 닫아 배출하면 된다고 전했다.

전정일 자원순환과장은 “투명 페트병 교환장터가 시민의 적극적인 분리배출 참여와 인식개선에 도움이 되길 바라며, 앞으로도 깨끗하고 쾌적한 의정부시를 만들기 위해 재활용 시책사업 추진에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
