[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 3월 3일부터 동두천시장애인종합복지관은 디지털 취약계층 정보화 구축 사업의 일환으로 지역 장애인가정에 PC 및 주변기기를 지원하는 기획사업을 진행했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 기획사업은 코로나19 장기화로 인해 외부활동이 감소한 정보 사각지대 장애인의 정보화 환경을 개선하고, 비대면 교육이 확대되었으나 온라인으로 수업에 참여하기 어려운 디지털 소외계층 장애 학생에게 정보화 교육환경을 제공한다는 취지로 복지관 후원업체인 판다컴퓨터 김태훈 대표의 후원으로 진행되었다고 했다. 

본 기획사업은 사용 중인 PC의 노후로 비대면 교육 및 정보 접근에 어려움을 겪고 있는 장애 청소년 가정을 대상으로 실시되었으며, 지역장애인의 정보화 욕구 수요에 따라 비정기 후원사업으로 확대할 예정이며, 또한, PC 외 모니터와 주변기기를 비롯한 컴퓨터 전용 책상 및 의자까지 지원되며 오는 3월 11일까지 총 5가정을 개별 방문하여 설치할 예정이라고 전했다. 

이와 관련하여 후원업체 김태훈 대표는 “코로나19 장기화로 소외된 이웃과 시설 등에 대한 사회적 온정이 줄었다는 소식을 접하고 모두가 힘든 시기이지만 보탬이 되고자 지원하게 됐다”며 “디지털 취약계층으로부터 디지털 격차를 줄이고 정보접근성 향상을 위해 사용되었으면 좋겠다”고 소감을 전했다.

동두천시장애인종합복지관 윤대중 관장은 “코로나19 장기화로 디지털 양극화가 가속화되는 상황에 아낌없는 지원을 해준 착한가게(판다컴퓨터)에 감사드리며, 지역장애인들이 힘든 시기를 같이 이겨낼 수 있도록 지속적인 관심과 온정을 전하겠다”고 말했다.
