복지관은 개발원에서 지원받은 지원금으로 이용 장애인들의 재활서비스 제공을 위한 기자재 구입과 현장중심 직업훈련에 참여중인 훈련생들을 대상으로 더욱 안전하고 편리하게 훈련에 참여할 수 있도록 전용 차량을 구입할 계획이라고 전했다.

동두천시장애인종합복지관은 2021년 중증장애인직업재활지원사업 ‘현장중심 직업재활센터’ 신규 수행기관으로 선정되어 지난 5월부터 연간 1억4천여만원 규모의 예산을 지원받아 전담인력 및 훈련지원인을 채용해 직업상담, 직업평가, 사업체 개발, 현장중심 직업훈련, 취업알선, 취업 적응지도를 진행 중에 있으며, 중증장애인의 직무능력 향상 및 취업을 위해 중증장애인이 더욱 안정적인 작업을 수행하고 일반 사업체 환경에 빠르게 적응할 수 있도록 훈련을 지원하고 있다고 했다.
