[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 26일, 축제를 주관하는 (재)나라는 군청에서 수산물 무역업체인 ㈜제이앤제이 인터내셔널과 산천어 수출 매매계약을 진행했다고 밝혔다. 

매년 10만 명 이상의 외국인 관광객들에게 화천 현지에서 손맛과 입맛을 선사하던 산천어가 이번에는 거꾸로 외국인 관광객의 식탁을 찾아가는 셈이라고 했다. 

계약물량은 총 15톤, 약 1억5,750만원 규모로, 5톤은 미주지역, 10톤은 동남아시아 등에 수출될 예정이며, 계약에 따라 (재)나라가 냉동보관 중인 산천어는 입금 확인과 동시에 냉동 컨테이너에 실려 납품을 위한 발송이 시작된다고 전했다. 

납품된 산천어는 제주 한림수협의 HACCP 인증 시설에서 전처리를 거쳐 오는 3월 중 수출길에 오르며, 수출계약이 마무리됨에 따라 산천어축제 취소에 따른 산천어 전량 판매에도 청신호가 켜졌다고 했다. 

(재)나라는 올해 산천어축제용 산천어 총 90톤 중 75톤은 통조림과 살코기 캔, 어간장, 어묵 등의 가공식품으로 제조했고, 현재 설 명절을 앞두고 주문이 쇄도하고 있으며, 이미 1차 생산물량의 약 80% 이상은 판매가 완료됐으며, 수출물량 15톤까지 더해지면서, 설 연휴 이후 90톤의 산천어 소진도 가능할 것으로 보인다고 전했다. 

최문순 (재)나라 이사장은 “코로나19 이전, 산천어축제장을 찾았던 외국인 관광객들에게 산천어 요리가 좋은 반응을 얻은 바 있다”며 “이번 수출로 산천어축제의 홍보효과도 매우 클 것으로 기대하고 있다”고 밝혔다.
