사과반 주요과정은 고품질 다수확 사과 생산을 위한 새로운 재배 기술 및 전문경영 마인드 형성과 현장 진단을 통한 문제점 해결 및 실습 위주 개별 맞춤형 현장 밀착 교육을 하며 디지털 영농을 실천할 수 있는 정보수집 및 분석능력 향상을 위한 체계적인 교육이 이루어진다고 했다.

올해 모집인원은 사과반 1개과 25명으로 대상은 고성군에 주소를 둔 사람으로서 사과를 재배하는 농가가 우선 선발되며, 예비 사과 재배를 희망하는 농가도 차순위로 선발한다고 전했다.

오는 2월 14일 입학식을 시작으로 10월 24일까지 매주 월요일 농업기술센터 교육관 및 현장에서 4시간씩 31회 총 134시간 운영되며, 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 방역패스 완료자 위주로 교육참석이 가능하며 사회적 거리두기 단계에 따라 기간과 장소는 변경가능하다고 했다.
