[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10일 동해시는 2022년 직장운동경기부 유도와 사격팀에 새로운 선수를 영입하고 임용장 수여식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

올해 영입한 새로운 선수는 사격팀은 2021년 제51회 봉황기 전국사격대회에서 단체 3위, 개인1위의 성적을 거둔 김정은(19세) 선수와 같은 해 창원시장배 전국사격대회 단체1위, 개인2위를 차지한 곽나경(22세) 선수가 생애 처음 실업팀에 입단했으며, 유도팀에는 2019회장기 전국유도대회 1위로, 안산시청에서 이적한 63kg 이하급 전은빈(24세) 선수와 2021하계전국유도연맹전에서 단체 2위를 한 70kg 이하급 강다빈(23세)를 영입했다고 했다.

이번 영입으로 동해시청 직장운동경기부는 패기와 혁신의 바람을 불러일으킬 수 있는 젊은 선수단으로 변모돼 유도 및 사격팀의 성장 잠재력이 높아졌고, 체계적인 선수 육성이 가능해졌다고 했다.

한편, 그동안 코로나19로 전국체육대회 등 각종 대회가 취소 또는 축소되며 엘리트 선수에게는 실력을 발휘 할 수 있는 기회가 부족해 선수 평가와 실업팀 입단에 어려움이 있었으나, 동해시청 직장운동경기부는 어려운 상황에서도 2021년 유도팀 39개(금18, 은5, 동16), 사격팀 6개(금3,은2 ,동1)의 메달을 획득하는 쾌거를 거뒀다고 했다.

배상일 유도팀 감독과 마서윤 사격팀 감독은 “다가오는 2022년 항저우 아시안게임 국가대표 선발전을 위해 오늘도 구슬땀을 흘리며 혼신의 노력을 다하고 있는 만큼, 아시안게임 뿐만 아니라 각종 전국대회에서 우수한 성적을 거둬 동해시 소속팀에게 영광을 돌리겠다”는 포부를 밝혔다.
