총 2억7천만 원을 들여 건립된 공공조형물은 가로 14.7ｍ, 세로 11.6ｍ, 높이 7ｍ의 규모로 전체적인 상징은 융합을 의미하며, 군은 이번에 건립된 참전 기념비가 전쟁을 경험하지 못한 세대들에게 나라를 위해 자신을 희생한 참전유공자의 숭고한 일을 계승할 수 있는 교육의 장으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다고 했다.

군 관계자는 "국가를 위해 희생‧공헌한 참전 유공자의 공적을 기념할 수 기념비를 건립함으로써 참전유공자의 예우를 강화하고, 참전 보훈 가족들의 자긍심을 고취할 수 있는 계기가 되기를 바란다“고 말했다.
