[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10월부터 12월까지 평창군은 3개월에 거쳐 대관령면 수하리에 위치한 삼현교 내진성능 보강공사를 완료하였다고 밝혔다. 

군에 따르면, 해당교량은 당초 상반기 정밀안전점검 결과에 따라 C등급 판정을 받은 시설물로써 지난 2019년도 판정한 B등급에서 한단계 낮아진 등급인데, 이번에 실시한 내진성능 보강에 따라 내년 정밀안전점검을 통해 새로이 등급을 판정할 예정으로, 등급이 상승하여 안전성을 입증할 수 있을 것으로 보인다고 했다.

또한, 교량 인근에는 아파트, 근린공원, 체육시설, 마트 등 주민들이 통행할 수 있는 충분한 여건임에도 인도가 설치되지 않아 차도변으로 걷는 등 위험에 노출되어 통행하는 경우가 많이 있어, 군은 이를 해소하고자 오는 2022년에는 삼현교 인근 인도 설치를 계획하고, 1월 설계 발주하여 상반기 중 토지 협의까지 완료하고, 당해에 공사 준공을 목표로 추진할 예정이라고 전했다.

군은 완료에 앞서 현장점검 및 시설물의 안전성을 직접 확인하는 등 주민들과 도로이용자들에게 보다 안전한 도로 환경을 제공하고자 최선을 다하고 있다고 했다. 

이정균 경제건설국장은 “안전이 확인된 도로를 제공함으로써 군민들과 지역 방문객들에게 안전사고로부터 생명과 재산을 보호할 수 있도록 도로 시설물 관리에 철저를 기할 것이며, 내년도 발주 계획인 삼현교 인근 인도 설치를 통해 차와 사람이 모두 안전하게 통행할 수 있도록 개선하고자 최선의 노력 기울일 것이다.”라고 전했다.
