또 지난해 이어 올해도 해맞이 행사가 전면 취소되었으며, 다만 해변 폐쇄는 하지 않고 코로나19 거리두기 현수막을 게첨하고 해수욕장 관리사무실에서 거리두기 안내방송을 할 계획이라고 했다. 

한편, 2022년 1월 1일에는 군수, 군의회의장, 도의원, 부군수의 현산공원 신년 충혼탑 참배를 시작으로 임인년(壬寅年) 새해를 연다고 전했다.
