이날 행사는 횡성군수 장신상, 횡성군의장 권순근을 비롯한 초청내빈과 남녀새마을지도자 100여명이 참여하여 진해되었으며, 횡성군새마을부녀회 원선자 회장이 새마을운동에 기여한 공로로 대통령 새마을포장을 수상하였으며, 읍면 새마을운동 종합평가에서 공근면이 최우수상의 영예를 안았다고 전했다.
