유해야생동물 피해방지단은 한국야생동식물보호관리협회 양양지회 20명, 한국야생동식물보호관리협회 양양2지회 8명, 전국수렵인 참여연대 양양군 지회 10명, 전국수렵인 참여연대 양양2지회 2명 등 모두 40명이라고 했다.

피해방지단은 유해야생동물 출몰이나 농작물 피해 신고 접수 시, 즉시 출동한 결과 12월 10일 현재 멧돼지 298마리, 고라니 1,263마리를 포획하는 성과를 올렸다고 했다.
