양양군은 전원생활을 원하는 도시민 유치와 농촌 지역 활력화를 위해 교통 및 생활 여건이 우수한 현북면 중광정리 291-4번지 일대 82,863㎡ 규모, 68필지에 대해 국비 등 총 95억의 사업비를 들여 2019년 7월 조성공사를 마쳤으며, 이후 5차례에 걸쳐 분양을 시행하여, 총 68필지 중 63필지의 분양을 완료했다고 했다.

1차~4차 분양은 사업계획 당시 입주예정자 협약 체결 과정에서 보였던 관심과 기대에 다소 미치지 못했으나, 금년 3월부터 5차 분양이 진행되면서 교통 및 우수한 생활 여건에 대한 호응이 이어지며 지난 11월만 13필지의 분양신청을 받아 계약을 완료 했으며, 또 5차 분양부터 매월 분양 접수와 계약을 병행하는 방식으로 분양 방식을 개선한 것도 분양률을 높이는데 일조한 것으로 풀이된다고 했다.
