[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 12월 1일 오전 11시, 횡성군은 부군수 집무실에서 ‘메타버스 횡성’ 구축을 위한 전문가 자문회의를 개최한다고 밝혔다.  

이번 자문회의는 한림대 원용기 교수, ㈜더픽트 전창대 대표, 강원문화예술교육협동조합 변기담 이사장 등이 참석하여 메타버스 도입 효과가 극대화 될 수 있는 접목 행정 분야·실천과제를 전문가의 자문을 통해 선정하게 된다고 했다.

코로나19 장기화로 비대면 소통이 강조되고 메타버스 가상 세계가 급부상하고 있으며, 군에서도 메타버스를 행정에 적용하여 새로운 홍보수단으로 활용하기 위해 지난 10월 김옥환부군수를 추진단장으로 하는 ‘메타버스 횡성’추진단을 구성하였고, 또한 추진단 교육 및 회의를 통해 메타버스 활용 분야·방법을 논의하는 등 발빠른 움직임을 보이고 있다고 했다. 

김석동 미래전략과장은“메타버스 전문가 자문을 통해 최상의 접목방안을 선정하여 연내 기본계획수립용역을 착수할 계획이며, 메타버스 시대에 빠른 대응으로 횡성군이 메타버스 선도 도시가 될 수 있도록 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
