[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 횡성 안흥고 드론축구팀 ‘썬더버드’가 2021 전주시장배 전국드론축구대회 3부 루키리그에서 우승을 차지했다고 밝혔다.

지난 27일과 28일 이틀간 전주시가 주최하고 (사)대한드론축구협회가 주관한 이번 대회는 전주대학교 희망홀에서 열렸고, 이번 대회에는 안흥중‧고 드론팀 ‘썬더버드(안흥고 혼성팀)’와 ‘허밍버드(안흥고 여자팀)’, ‘타이푼(안흥중)’ 등 3팀이 참가하였으며, 썬더버드팀은 3부리그(루키리그)에서 드림컴트루팀과 치열한 접전을 펼친 끝에 1점차 승리를 따내며 우승을 차지하였다고 했다. 

대회는 총 3부 리그로 치러졌으며, 1부는 프로리그, 2부 아마추어리그, 3부 루키리그이며, 총 32개팀, 300여명의 선수단이 참가하여 그동안 갈고 닦은 기량을 겨뤘다고 했다.

한편, 드론축구는 탄소 소재의 보호장구에 둘러싸인 드론볼을 축구처럼 골대에 넣는 신개념 스포츠이고, 안흥고 드론축구단은 2019년 창단하였으며, 2021년 선수 가운데 3명 김별, 박선정, 신유진이 대한민국 여자국가대표에 동시 선발되는 것은 물론 각종 대회 수상을 이어가며 활약을 펼치고 있다고 했다.
