[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10월 14일 의정부시는 사회적 거리두기 실천을 위해 비대면 온라인 방식으로 제6기 여성친화도시 시민 서포터즈 비대면 회의 및 성인지 교육을 실시했다고 밝혔다.  

여의주 서포터즈는 성평등정책참여팀, 여성안전지킴팀 등 2개 팀으로 구성되어 있으며, 32명의 회원들이 활동 중이며, 이번 회의는 제6기 여의주가 향후 추진할 사업을 논의하면서, 임원진 선출, 팀구성, 여성친화도시 홍보, 성인지교육 등 다양한 주제로 사업을 계획했다고 했다.

‘여성친화도시 의정부의 주인’의 약칭인 여의주는 2013년 제1기 여성친화도시 서포터즈로 시작하여, 현재 제6기 서포터즈가 운영 중에 있으며 여성친화도시 이행사업 및 성별영향평가 사업에 참여하고, 성주류화 사업 제안 및 모니터링, 재래시장․대중교통시설의 여성친화적으로 모니터링함으로써 성 평등한 가치를 실현할 수 있게 하는 시민참여단이라고 했다. 

안병용 의정부시장은 “2013년 제1기를 시작으로 10여 년 동안 여의주 서포터즈의 다양한 활동들이 여성친화도시 조성에 매우 큰 힘이 되었으며, 시에서도 3단계 지정을 위해 혼신의 노력을 기울이고 의정부시를 시민 모두가 행복한 여성친화도시를 구현하는 데 최선을 다해 노력하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
