[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주시는 코로나19 확산에 따라 2021년 BIO농업대학(원) 교육을 비대면 온라인으로 전환해 운영 중이라고 밝혔다.

양주시는 지난 7월 수도권 지역에 대한 코로나19 사회적 거리두기 4단계 격상 이후 기존 대면 집합교육 방식의 BIO농업대학(원) 교육을 온라인 화상회의 플랫폼 줌(ZOOM), 네이버밴드 등 온라인 플랫폼을 활용한 비대면 방식으로 전면 전환했다고 했다.

또한 주로 현장에서 이뤄지는 실습교육의 경우 코로나19 예방을 위해 드라이브 스루로 실습 키트를 배부한 뒤 자택에서 수강생 스스로 영농 경험과 노하우를 배울 수 있도록 진행하고 있다고 했다.

현재 비대면으로 운영 중인 과정은 BIO농업대학 2개 과정(생활원예과, 소득작물과)과 BIO농업대학원 1개 과정(농산물가공과)이라고 전했다.

BIO농업대학(원)에 재학 중인 수강생 대부분은 스마트폰 등 IT 기기 사용에 익숙하지 않은 디지털 취약계층으로 교육 초반에는 온라인 강의에 대한 어려움을 호소했으나 지속적인 개별 디지털 교육을 통해 이제는 어렵지 않게 수업에 참여할 수 있게 됐다고 했다.

소득작물과 재학생 A씨는 “평소에 전화와 문자메시지 외에 사용하지 않는 스마트폰으로 온라인 강의를 수강하고자 준비할 때 어려움을 많았으나 농업기술센터 직원들이 친절하게 밀착 교육을 해준 덕분에 지금은 손쉽게 사용한다”며 “비대면 교육이 코로나19 감염에 대한 우려도 없고 공간제약, 시간 효율 측면에서도 만족스럽다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

농업기술센터 관계자는 “수강생을 대상으로 꾸준하게 디지털 교육을 실시한 결과 현재 비대면 교육이 원활하게 진행되고 있지만 교육생간의 소통과 유대 등 정보 교류면에서 아쉬운 부분이 남아있다”며 “향후 거리두기 단계가 완화되면 대면 집합교육과 현장 견학 등 다양한 프로그램을 점진적으로 운영할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
