지친 군민들을 위로하고자 관내 유명 관광지와 협업하여 가평 군민 누구나 무료로 입장할 수 있도록 이벤트도 진행되고, 이번 이벤트에 참여하는 관광지는 남이섬, 쁘띠프랑스, 아침고요수목원, 아침고요가족동물원, 에델바이스 스위스테마파크 등 5개소이며, 오는 10월 8일 하루 동안 가평군민이면 누구나 신분증만 제시하면 무료로 입장할 수 있다고 했다.

올해로 54회를 맞이하는 가평군민의 날 행사는 오는 10월 8일 오전 명예군민, 군민대상 및 도민상 수상자 등 최소인원으로 자라섬 남도에서 시상식만 간소하게 진행할 예정이며, 명예군민에는 한국산업개발연구원 부원장 이해종, LH가평읍내2단지 센터장 전민선, 가평군경우회장 박상진, 前환경부차관 문정호 등 4명을 선정되었으며, 군민대상에는 문화예술분야 김지혜, 사회봉사분야 이영재 등 2명이 선정되었다고 했다. 

군민의 날 기념식과 함께, 코로나 19 등 여러 이슈들로 가평군 관계자는 “코로나 19확산예방을 위해 예년과 달리 군민의 날 행사에 많은 군민들이 참석할 수 없어 아쉽다.” 며 “군민의 날은 가평군민 모두가 즐거운 하루가 되기를 바란다”고 전했다.
