선정 대상자는 지역사회복지 및 각 분야별 복지현장에서 2년 이상 활동을 꾸준히 해 온 공무원 1명, 협의체·노인·장애인 부문 각 2명, 여성·다문화 1명, 아동·청소년 1명, 단체 1개로 총 7개 분야 군수표창과 3개 분야 군의장 표창이 이루어질 예정이라고 했다. 

선정된 유공자에 대해서는 당초 9월 7일 음악역 1939에서 제13회 가평군 사회복지의 날 기념식을 개최하고 상장을 전수할 예정이었으나 코로나 19로 인한 사회적 거리두기 4단계가 연장되어 기념식이 취소되면서 같은 날, 가평군청에서 유공자 표창장 전수만 할 계획이라고 전했다. 

지병록 복지정책과장은 작년에 이어 올해도 행사가 취소됨을 안타깝게 생각하며 내년엔 코로나 상황이 안정되어 사회복지증진을 위해 애쓰시는 모두가 한 자리에 모여 기념식을 개최할 수 있기를 기대해본다고 말했다.
