이번 공사는 ‘경기명산 27’사업의 일환으로 총사업비 1억원을 들여 시가 추진하는 사업으로, 소요산 의상대 정상에 데크와 표지석을 설치하는 한편 안전한 산행이 될 수 있도록 등산로 안내판이 추가 설치되고, 시는 그간 암석으로 형성된 공사 현장 주변에 노후 시설물인 철재난간과 밧줄을 수시 정비하는 한편 등산로 주변 안전 시설물 관리에도 만전을 기하고 있다고 했다.

이날 공사현장을 방문한 전진석 부시장은 “의상대 정상에서 시 전경이 한눈에 들어오는 포토존이 자연스레 조성됐다”며 단풍으로 유명한 소요산에 더 많은 인원이 방문할 수 있도록 안전 시공을 당부하였다.
