동두천시는 시민들에게 쾌적한 생활체육 도심 환경을 제공하고자 올 3월 국가철도공단으로부터 동두천중앙역 인근 전철고가하부 3개 공간 1,690㎡를 사용허가 받았다고 했다. 

이날 공사 현장을 찾은 전진석 부시장은 작업 공정을 살펴보며 시민들이 쾌적하게 생활체육광장을 이용할 수 있도록 공사 추진에 만전을 기해달라고 당부했다.
