[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 9일 포천동 청소년지도협의회는 관내 중·고등학교에 입학하는 저소득 가정의 신입생 18명과 대학생 4명에게 총 4백만 원의 포청장학금을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이번 장학금은 학업에 필요한 참고서 구입과 생활복 구입 비용을 지원하는 내용으로 학부모의 경제적 부담을 조금이나마 덜어주기 위해 마련됐다고 했다.

권보경 회장은 “앞으로도 어려운 환경의 학생들이 학업에 전념할 수 있도록 청소년들을 위한 나눔에 적극적으로 임하겠다.”고 말했다. 

배영관 포천동장은 “우리지역 청소년들을 위해 장학금을 마련해 주신 포천동청소년지도협의회에 깊은 감사를 드린다.”며 “미래 포천의 주역인 청소년들을 지도·육성하는 일에 헌신하시는 여러분들의 노력은 포천시의 밝은 미래를 만드는 초석이 될 것이라 생각한다.”며 감사를 표했다.

한편, 포천동 청소년지도협의회에서는 매년 포동청소년축제 개최, 청소년 유해업소 계도, 학교폭력 예방캠페인 등을 통해 청소년의 건전한 육성·보호에 힘쓰고 있다고 전했다.
