가평로타리클럽은 오전부터 구슬땀을 흘리며 폭발사고로 인해 부서진 화장실문과 깨진 유리창 등을 옮기고 치웠으며 검게 그을린 화장실 내부와 거실 등을 깨끗이 닦으면서 청소를 하였다고 전했다.

이번 청소와 주택내부수리는 폭발사고로 인한 유리파편 및 위험물들을 정리함과 동시에 소실된 베란다 샷시, 방문 등을 교체하고 화장실 변기수리 및 천장과 벽면도배 등 집안 내부를 안전하고 깔끔하게 정리,수리하여 홀몸어르신이 사고의 충격에서 더 빨리 회복될 수 있도록 안락한 보금자리를 마련해주는 봉사활동이었다고 했다.
 

이경한 회장은 “갑작스런 폭발사고로 정신적 충격을 받고 실의에 빠진 어르신을 생각하니 마음이 아팠다”며 “경제적으로도 어려운 독거노인에게 도움이 되고자 회원들이 한마음 한뜻으로 청소봉사와 주택내부 수리를 지원  하게 되어 보람되고 기쁘다.”고 말했다
