이번 견학은 ‘공공하수처리시설 하수도바로알기 프로그램’으로 하수도에 대한 올바른 이해와 물의 소중함을 인식시키고자 마련되었다고 했다.

공공하수처리시설에 대한 설명은 3가지 방식으로 이루어졌다. 시설 위탁관리사인 파이닉스알엔디(주)의 관리 팀장의 인솔 하에 동영상시청,  현미경을 통한 미생물 관찰, 하수처리시설 현장견학으로 진행하였으며, 하수처리의 과정과 환경기초시설은 혐오시설이 아닌 우리들의 생활에 꼭 필요한 중요한 시설임을 인식시켜 주는 계기가 되었다고 말했다.

인사이동으로 하수도사업소에 근무하게 된  한 직원은 “공공하수처리시설의 현장 견학을 통해 하수도에 대한 새로운 이해를 바탕으로 근무하게 될 수 있는 계기가 되었다.” 고 말했다.

하수도사업소 현근식 하수시설팀장은 “코로나사태로 인해 1년 가까이 적극적인 견학홍보와 주민의식 개선사업을 할 수 없는 안타까운 상황에서  하수도사업소에 근무하게 된 직원들에게 하수처리 과정에 대한 인식을 새롭게 세워줄 수 있는 좋은 기회였으며 향후 코로나사태가 진정되면 학생과 주민들을 대상으로 홍보활동을 추진하겠다”며 홍보활동 계획을 밝혔다.
