[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시가 오는 9월 26일부터 27일까지 원주시 관내에서 수행되고 있는 공공발주공사 등 사업현장에 대한 안전관리 실태를 긴급 점검한다.

원주시는 지난 22일 태장1동 행정문화복합센터 신축공사 현장에서 근로자가 추락하여 부상을 당하는 사고가 발생함에 따라, 근로자 재해예방을 위한 안전조치에 대한 전면 실태점검에 나서기로 했다. 

이번 점검은 원주시가 공공발주한 사업현장을 대상으로 「산업안전보건법」, 「건설기술진흥법」등 관계법령에 따른 안전조치의무의 이행실태를 확인하고 시설물 이상유무 점검, 근로자 의견 청취 등을 통해 작업환경 내 위험요인을 발굴할 목적으로 실시된다.

원주시는 보다 내실있는 점검이 될 수 있도록 공무원과 분야별 기술사 등 민간전문가와 함께 각 사업별 점검반을 꾸려 점검을 추진할 계획이다.

원강수 원주시장은 “어떤 정책보다 중요한 것은 안전”이라며 “근로자와 시민은 안전한 환경에서 일할 권리가 있고 시는 그 권리를 보전할 의무가 있기 때문에 관내에서 산업재해가 단 한 건도 발생하지 않을 때까지 면밀히 노력해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.
