[서종협 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백시(시장 이상호)는 2023년 문화재청 지역문화재 활용 공모사업 생생문화재 분야에 선정돼 사업비 2억 원을 확보했다고 밝혔다.

‘화석과 물길을 찾아떠나는 생생체험!’ 사업은 2019년부터 5년 연속 선정된 공모사업이며 구문소 오르도비스기 지층과 제4기 하식지형(천연기념물) 및 검룡소(명승)를 활용해 추진된다.

‘어서와 탄광은 처음이지?’ 사업은 2020년부터 4년 연속 선정된 공모사업으로 철암역두 선탄시설(국가등록문화재)을 중심으로 추진된다.

시 관계자는 “새로운 문화유산을 지속 발굴해 향후 사업을 확대해 나갈 계획이다”며, “내년에 시행될 생생문화재 사업은 더욱 완성도 있는 사업이 될 수 있도록 보완·개선해 지역경제 활성화에 기여하겠다”고 말했다.
