[김준호 기자 = 태백시] 강원 태백시 가축방역 거점소독소 신축 사업 준공식이 8월 31일 황지동 288일원에서 이상호 태백시장이 참석한 가운데 개최됐다. 준공식은 개회, 경과보고에 이어 기념사, 축사, 테이트 커팅식, 시설 관람 등의 순으로 진행되었다.

시는 총사업비 829백만 원을 투입해 황지동 288번지(2,847㎡) 일원에 거점소독소를 지상 1층 244.5㎡ 규모로 신축했으며, 지난해 8월에 착공해 올해 8월 31일 준공식을 하게 됐다.

거점소독소는 차량소독실, 대인소독실, 기계실, 사무실겸 통제실, GPS 차량인식기, 자동 소독필증 발급 시설 등을 갖췄다. 특히, 실내 소독과 시설 내부의 열선처리로 동파를 예방해 동절기 사용이 원활하며 폐수 정화시설을 갖춰 80%까지 재사용이 가능해 수질오염도 예방한다.

이상호 태백시장은 “거점소독소 운영으로 가축 전염병 관내 유입을 방지하고 가축전염병 발생 시 신속한 차단 방역 조치로 질병 확산 방지는 물론 24시간 상시 방역체계 구축으로 축산농가 피해를 최소화할 것”이라고 말했다. 

또한 “축산농가는 ‘내 농장은 스스로 지킨다’는 강력한 책임의식을 가지고 축사 내․부 소독 및 야생동물 접근 차단 등 농장 차단 방역에 최선을 다해 달라”고 당부했다.
