[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시농업기술센터는 최근 농작물에 큰 피해를 주고 있는 돌발해충 대응 및 방제계획 수립을 위해 농림지 등 발생지역 조사를 추진하고 있다고 밝혔다.

원주시는 예찰반을 구성해 8월 12일까지 미국선녀벌레와 갈색날개매미충 등 돌발해충이 발생한 농경지와 산림, 공원 등을 대상으로 발생 정도와 면적을 조사할 계획이다.

이번 조사 결과는 방제 적기 판단, 범위설정 등 방제계획을 수립하는 데 활용될 예정이다.

한편, 이들 해충은 이번 겨울 기온이 높고 봄철 강우량이 적어 밀도가 급증했으며, 현재 알과 약충, 성충이 혼재해 농작물뿐만 아니라 산림, 잡초 등에서 발견되고 있다.

방제를 소홀히 하면 내년에 밀도가 더 높아질 가능성이 있으며, 농작물의 수세가 약해지고 그을음 등 상품성이 떨어져 큰 피해가 발생할 수 있다.
