[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시농업기술센터는 침체한 농촌 경제를 활성화하기 위해 농촌자원을 활용한 치유농업 육성 사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

총사업비 1억 원이 투입되는 이 치유농업 육성 사업은 농촌의 치유자원을 활용해 치유환경을 조성하고 프로그램을 제공함으로써 신체적·정서적 안정을 도모하는 사업이라고 했다.

농촌 치유 서비스 자원을 보유하고 치유농업에 관심이 있는 마을이 대상으로, 마을대표자가 1월 28일까지 원주시 농업기술센터 농촌자원과에 직접 방문해 신청하면 된다고 했다.

원주시 관계자는 “다양한 농촌자원을 활용해 부가가치를 창출하는 치유농업이 우리 농업의 새로운 성장 동력으로 주목받고 있다.”라며, “코로나19로 지친 시민의 신체와 정서를 치유하고 농촌 경제를 활성화하도록 하겠다.”라고 말했다.
