[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시농업기술센터는 농한기를 활용한 농촌 여성 실용 교육을 성공적으로 운영해 큰 호응을 얻었다고 전했다.

이번 교육에서는 농한기 2개월간 농촌 여성의 전문기술 능력 배양 및 전통문화 계승발전을 위한 교육과정을 운영해 총 61명의 수료생을 배출했다고 했다.

건강기능 요리와 쌀 베이킹, 천연염색, 도자기공예, 가죽공예 등 5개 과정에 참여한 여성 농업인들은 향상된 실력을 뽐내며 만족감을 드러냈다고 했다.

다만, 농업인 건강관리 교육은 코로나19로 인한 경로당 등 시설 폐쇄로 취소돼 아쉬움을 남겼다고 전했다.

원주시 관계자는 “농한기를 활용한 교육을 통해 여성 농업인들이 전문기술을 습득하고 취미 생활을 즐길 수 있었다.”라며, “코로나19 장기화로 답답했던 생활에 활력을 불어넣어 드린 것 같아 기쁘다.”라고 말했다.
