[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 환경부 원주지방환경청은 6월 29일 평창군 문화예술회관에서 토석채취 사업장의 환경관리 수준을 향상시키기 위한 세미나를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 토석채취 사업자, 환경영향평가업자 등 약 30명이 참석하여 토석채취 시 발생할 수 있는 환경오염을 줄이기 위한 다양한 방안을 논의한다고 전했다.

한국환경연구원은 “토석채취사업 환경영향평가 개선방안”, 한국골재협회는 “국내 토석산업의 동향과 훼손산지의 친환경적 복구”를 주제로 각각 발표할 예정이며, 토석채취 사업자, 환경영향평가업자 및 전문가가 토론을 통하여 소음과 진동을 줄이고, 흙탕물 발생을 억제하는 등 토석채취로 인해 주변환경에 미치는 환경영향을 최소화할 수 있는 방안을 논의할 예정이라고 했다.

이창흠 청장은 “이번 세미나가 토석채취 사업장의 환경친화적인 관리 인식을 높이는 계기가 될 것”이라며, 환경피해 방지를 위해 사업자의 적극적인 관심과 노력을 당부했다.
