[장선희 기자= 경기북부/강원] 오는 16일부터, 동두천시는 11개교 초등학교 4학년생(학교밖 동학령기 아동 포함) 770여명을 대상으로 '경기도 초등학생 치과주치의사업'을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

본 사업은 올해 11월까지 운영되며, 참여 학생들에게는 기본적으로 '문진 및 구강검진', '전문가 구강위생검사', '구강보건교육', '불소도포'를 비롯하여 구강상태에 따른 '치아 홈메우기', '단순 치석제거', '파노라마 촬영' 등의 서비스를 제공한다고 전했다. 

경기도 초등학생 치과주치의사업은 포괄적인 구강관리서비스를 제공함으로써 학생들의 구강건강을 증진시키고, 영구치 우식률 감소 등을 통해 치과비용을 감소시키고자 지난 2019년 5월부터 본격적으로 실시해 왔고, 사업참여 시에는 반드시 치과주치의 전용 어플(덴티아이)을 통해 온라인 교육을 이수하고 경기도 내 참여치과의료기관 중 1곳을 선택 후 예약한 날짜에 치과방문 및 진료를 받으면 된다고 했다.

이승찬 보건소장은 “학생건강 실태에서도 치아우식증이 주요 건강 문제로 지적된 바, 구강건강을 위한 지속적인 관리와 교육은 반드시 필요하다”며 “보다 많은 학생들이 사업에 참여할 수 있도록 학교 측의 적극적인 참여 독려와 협조를 바란다”고 말했다.
