[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 4월 11일, 화천군은 이달 중 사내면 사창1~6리 지역에서 약 1,100여 세대를 대상으로 진행될 LPG 배관망 구축사업의 실시설계용역에 착수한다고 밝혔다. 

4월 기준, 도시가스가 들어오지 않는 접경지 화천군 곳곳에 LPG 배관망이 거미줄처럼 깔리고 있으며, 배관망을 통한 LPG 공급단가는 1㎥ 당 약 3,385원 수준으로, 기존 가격보다 최대 40% 가량 저렴한 수준이어서 화천군민들의 가스비 절감 효과가 기대된다고 전했다. 

군은 연내 설계용역을 마무리한 후 오는 2023년까지 총 110억원을 투입해 배관망과 저장탱크 등의 구축을 완료한다는 계획이며, 또 간동면 오음마을 LPG 배관망 구축사업을 이달 착공해 연말쯤 LPG 공급을 시작할 예정이고, 28억원이 투입되는 오음마을 LPG 배관망 사업이 완료되면, 오음1~2리 주민 224세대가 혜택을 보게 되고, 이와 함께 화천군은 상반기 중 상서면 다목1리 LPG 소형저장탱크 보급사업에 착공하며, 10억5,500만원이 투입되는 이 사업이 완료되면, 약 95세대가 사용할 수 있는 소형저장탱크와 공급배관, 보일러 등이 설치된다고 했다. 

각종 규제와 낮은 시장성 등으로 수십 년간 낙후돼 있던 화천군의 에너지 공급체계에 지각변동이 일어나기 시작한 것은 불과 7년 전이라고 했다.
