[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 3월 8일, 아라리가족성상담소는 정선읍 행정복지센터 앞에서 '세계 여성의 날'을 기념하여 젠더폭력 추방 거리 캠페인을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

세계 여성의 날은 유엔(UN)이 여성의 지위 향상을 위해 지정했으며, 우리나라에서는 지난 2018년 법정기념일로 공식 지정됐다고 했다. 

이번 행사는 '우리의 목소리가 세상을 바꾼다'를 주제로 세계 여성의 날의 의미를 되새기며 젠더폭력에 대한 지역 주민들의 인식 변화를 위해 진행되었다고 했다.

이미자 아라리가족성상담소장은 "아직도 우리 주변에는 편견과 차별, 폭력과 무관심으로 고통받는 이웃이 많다며, 여성과 남성의 성을 떠나 우리 이웃이라는 마음으로 주변을 돌아봐주시길 바란다"고 말했다. 

아라리가족성상담소는 지난 2013년 개소하였으며, 성폭력피해자·피해자의가족 상담·치료 회복 및 성폭력피해 예방을 위한 홍보·교육사업을 추진하고 있다고 밝혔다.
