[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 9일 동해시가 실시하는 제20대 대통령선거를 앞두고 사전 준비에 만전을 기하고 있다고 밝혔다.

이번 대통령선거는 공직선거법 개정에 따라 기존 만 19세에서 만 18세 이상(2004년 3월 10일까지 출생자)의 국민에게 보장되며, 동해시의 선거인 수는 7만 7,129명으로 확정됐다고 했다.

투표는 4일과 5일에는 사전투표, 9일에는 본선거 투표가 진행되며, 우선, 4일과 5일 양일간 치러지는 사전투표를 위해 동해시는 관내 10개소의 사전투표소를 설치·운영한다고 전했다.

사전투표는 오전 6시부터 오후 6시까지, 주민등록과 상관없이 전국 사전투표소 어디에서나 투표할 수 있으며, 이에 앞서, 시는 사전투표관리관 교육 등을 비롯해 사전투표 모의시험을 실시했다고 했다.
