[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 북부지방산림청은 금년 정월대보름(2.15.)에 불을 이용한 민속놀이 등 각종 행사로 인해 산불위험이 높을 것으로 전망하고, 2월 14일부터 오는 2월16일까지를 ‘정월대보름 산불방지 특별대책기간’으로 정하여 산불방지 활동을 강화한다고 밝혔다.

이번 정월대보름(2.15.)에는 전국적으로 건조한 날씨가 지속되는 가운데 달집태우기, 쥐불놀이, 불꽃놀이 등의 야외 행사와 무속행위 등에 의한 산불발생 위험도 높을 것으로 예상되고 있다고 했다. 

또한, 최근 10년(’12∼’21)간 북부지방산림청 관내에서 정월대보름에 소각산불(34%), 입산자 실화(24%) 등의 원인 순으로 29건 산불이 발생하여 산림 5.4ha가 소실되는 피해를 입었다고 했다. 

이에 따라, 북부지방산림청은 산불 취약지역에 산림공무원, 산불전문예방진화대 등 산불방지 인력을 집중 투입하여 지역주민 계도와 야간 산불감시 활동을 강화하고, 산불발생 상황을 대비하여 전 직원 비상근무 및 긴급출동 대기태세를 한층 더 강화하기로 했다고 전했다. 

특히, 이번 정월대보름 특별대책기간에는 산불관련 불법행위에 대한 단속도 강화하며, 산불 위험·취약지, 입산 길목 등에 감시 인력을 배치하고, 산림 연접지역 소각행위 등을 집중 단속하여 위반사항에 대해서는 관련 법령에 따라 엄중 처리할 방침이라고 했다. 

아울러, 북부지방산림청 관계자는 “이번 정월대보름 산불방지 특별대책기간 중, 불을 이용한 민속놀이를 계획하고 있는 마을에서는, 반드시 해당지역 산림(행정)관서에 신고하여 주시고, 신고한 민속놀이라도 화재 및 산불에 대비하여 안전·진화를 위한 사전조치를 철저히 한 후에 실시하시고, 화재 또는 산불발생 시는 신속히 해당지역 산림관서 등 행정기관에 신고하여 주실 것을 당부 드린다.”고 밝혔다.
